A very handsome Georgian Mahogany wash-stand, which would make a fantastic very elegant sideboard.
c1800.
The top having a wooden gallery, with solid mahogany top, over a large very deep central drawer, flanked by four further drawers, two drawers having compartmented fitted interiors, which would be useful for pens, stationary etc.
Each drawer is oak lined and of fine dove-tail construction, showing all the great quality Georgian furniture has to offer.
All original locks and escutcheons are present, with the original working key.
Also retaining the very charming original brass lion-head handles.
Standing on ring-turned supports.
The mahogany in original condition, with a lovely warm patina.
In excellent antique condition, with general expected signs of age and use.
Very solid sturdy and strong. All drawers open smoothly and easily.
