George IV Inlaid Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase

Description

A superb quality George IV period secretaire bookcase of generous proportions. Of fine construction in well chosen solid mahogany and attractive flame mahogany veneers. Decorated with inlaid satinwood stringing throughout and cross banded in rosewood. The corners flanked with bold and impressive turned and reeded columns. The top section with a pair of glazed doors which open to access a display space with adjustable shelving. All surmounted by an elaborate cornice complete with solid brass medallions and a central urn. The base section with a deep drawer containing a fully fitted secretaire. Below are a pair or cupboard doors which open to reveal cupboard storage space with a shelved interior. All doors are drawers are lockable with keys supplied. This wonderful bookcase is offered for sale in excellent original condition, with a splendid colour and patina, ready to go straight into the home. Splits into two sections for ease of installation.
