A Victorian flame figured mahogany pedestal desk of excellent quality.
 
c1860.
 
The top with galleried back, has a solid mahogany writing surface, over two long drawers to the top, with three drawers to each pedestal, with mahogany linings and fine dove-tail construction, showing excellent quality. Retaining the original turned bun-handles.
 
The mahogany to the drawer fronts is particularly lovely, having rich flame figuring and good rich deep colour.
 
Standing on a plinth base.
 
All drawers are strong and sturdy and open smoothly and easily
 
In excellent antique condition. Minor expected signs of age and use.
 
Very solid, sturdy and strong.
 
The desk doesn`t dismantle.
