Antique Staffordshire Dog Jug C1860

Description

This well-decorated and wonderfully modelled Antique Staffordshire Dog Jug dates from circa 1860. His face is delightful.

He stands 10 inches (25.5 cm) high.

The JUG has three old hairlines. There is also a shrinkage line in the base which occured during the firing. This means, since the day it was made, the JUG has never held water. There are no chips or restoration.

All of this is superseded by the crispness of the moulding and decoration. A really First Class Dog.
