Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The andirons faced by a balustraded wall, flanked to either end by pedestals, decorated with fielded diamond mounts, atop each pedestal is a large orb finial, and a lion rests on each wall, the beasts with quizzical expressions. The bronze fronts mounted to the cast iron log brackets. The bronze work with excellent patination.
