Antique English Automated Biscuit Box in Silver Plate C.1890

Description

A stunning late Victorian silver plated biscuit box with an automated lid; push the handle one way and one of the side lids open, push it the other way and the other lid lifts.

A lovely shape standing on four very elegant feet and the body with an engraved decoration.

The underside is fully marked with the makers mark which I haven't identified, it is also marked Sheffield and the number 58 inside a shield.

Late Victorian in era dating to c.1890; excellent condition measuring 8" x 5 1/4" x 9 1/2" tall to top of handle.
