Victorian Solid Silver Milk Cream Jug

Description

A good example of an antique Sterling Silver milk or cream jug. It has a bulbous shape with embossed floral design and it stands on three feet. There is a faded crest engraved on the front. The jug is stylish and good quality, weighing approximately 116g.

It is hallmarked for Edward & John Barnard, London, 1872. They are slightly rubbed but still distinguishable.

It is in good condition for its age. There are some faint surface marks and minor dinks and two of the legs have been knocked at some point which has caused some dents around the top of them (see photos) but the jug stands evenly and it still displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.
