Description

Unusual mid 19th.c. mahogany double height open bookshelves c.1850. In two pieces, with a shallower top section fitted with two adjustable shelves (9½” depth) over a deeper base with a single shelf (14" depth) also adjustable. Simple design and clean lines, the applied decoration being restricted to the nicely carved scrolling acanthus leaf corbels to both sections. Broad flared cornice and moulded detail to the waist. Good quality with solid mahogany sides and shelves. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
