Antique Bronze Figural Monkey Holding Mother of Pearl Trinket Dish

Description

Really charming, this nineteenth century monkey is made from polished bronze and beautifully formed with superb details and two tiny original glass eyes.

He holds the the mother of pearl dish for trinkets or rings, again with a polished bronze mounted border engraved for additional detailing.

Excellent quality, the statue is screwed to the marble base (a few chips to the bottom rim of the base). Dating to around 1860, it remains in excellent condition. The piece stands 3 3/4" high with a base diameter measuring 2 7/8" and the mother of pearl dish measuring 3" x 2".
