In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Nouveau glassware originated in the late nineteenth century and is defined by naturalistic curves, whiplash lines, and organic motifs inspired by flora and fauna. Production often involved experimental glassmaking techniques, such as surface iridescence and metal oxide finishes, paired with artistic metalwork mounts.

Artisans typically used hand-blown glass combined with metal mounts made from pewter, bronze, or brass. The metal components were cast or electroformed into intricate organic shapes designed to cradle the glass vessel securely.

Authentic pieces generally display period-correct pontil marks on the glass base alongside stamped maker marks or model numbers on the metal mounts. Surface iridescence should appear integrated into the glass matrix rather than applied as a modern spray coating.

Placing a symmetrical pair of decorative glass vases on a contemporary sideboard, mantelpiece, or console table creates a refined focal point. The rich colour tone and metallic details contrast elegantly with understated timber furniture or minimalist backdrops.

Clean the glass gently with a soft microfibre cloth and tepid water, avoiding full submersion that could trap moisture between the glass and metal stand. Dust the pewter with a soft dry cloth without using abrasive chemical polishes, which can strip the historic patina.
