A humorous Japanese Meiji period carved wood tobacco box in the form of a man with arms raised high, inset with a mother of pearl pouch and pipe pulling a face. This beautiful box opens from the man''s face to reveal a storage compartment and has a pierced stag antler ojime and netsuke in the form of a clam & conch shell, it is in excellent overall condition standing 4 ¼ inches tall.
