Julie Cartwright Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The hinged slotted lid opening at the back and fitted with a clasp, allowing if needed a small padlock to be inserted. The interior lined with blue velvet and leather. The sole is beautifully crafted with light oak.

Hallmarks:
Marked on the side of the shoe (very faint).
Partial marks on the inner lid.
Registration number.
Maker's marks erased but these type shoes were the speciality of the silversmith S Blanckensee & Sons.
