Description

Superb quality Edwardian adjustable reading stand and table c.1905. Designed to fit beside a chair or bed, with two oak tables which can be used flat or angled as sloped stands for books, magazines or sheet music. Both being height adjustable on a metal column with large brass ball finial and heavy cast iron base. With brass page stays to both, note also the folding sides to the larger table. Quality metal work with various patent stamps and marks for the Birmingham makers William Tonks & Sons. Also a badge for the the retailers Bennet Bros of Birmingham on the rear of the larger table. Excellent condition.
