To the centre is the main slide which pulls forward for use with the original gilt-tooled morocco leather writing surface which can be ratcheted upwards for use. Below is a wide oak-lined drawer above the "kneehole", flanked by four oak-lined drawers and a useful large slide can be found to either side. It is supported on tapering solid mahogany legs with original sabot castors. Complete with working key to the drawers. 42 inches wide, 40 inches high and 26 inches deep.

The superb quality gilt handles used throughout this desk together with the ornate pierced and gilded oval backplates point to this coming from the workshops of an important London Cabinetmaker.
