Very large 19th century French gilt overmantel / leaner mirror.
It dates from around 1860.
It has it beautiful gilt on gesso frame with ornate detail with no chips to the gesso.
It has its incredibly heavy original mercury glass plate covered in masses of foxing /spots gained through years of ageing. Mercury glass is increasingly hard to find these days.
It has its original pine backboards.
It would look fantastic used as a freestanding leaner mirror in a bedroom or lounge or as an overmantel above a fireplace.
