Description

A rare pattern turkish "mazarlik" village rug of the so named graveyard design. The central house shaped slab motifs are graveyard markers.note also the abrashed (deliberate tonal change of colour) band running across the rug,upper centre and in the triangular blue corner spandrels.

All woollen weaving. Has been hand washed,last two images,plenty images to look at.

In country house condition. Some good pile and lower pile. Complete fringe losses both ends but even. Right side in the border is an indentation in the pile as a darker spot. Side cords good. Rear perimeter reinforced with conservators tape and top edges sealed.

Size is 8 foot 3 inches by 3 foot 8 inches. 253cm by 112cm. At widest points. All woollen construction.

Weighs 8.2kg. U.k post £20.
