Rare Georgian Silver & Carved Mother of Pearl Pictorial Snuff Box, Circa 1750

Description

This exquisite early Georgian snuff box dates circa 1750. Of circular form, the silver reeded frame mounted with a mother of pearl base and lid. The lid carved with a sheep dog and his flock. the base beautifully iridescent.

Hallmarks:

Unmarked as was very often the case with early Georgian pieces.

Dimensions:

Height: 1cm / 0.3 inches.

Diameter: 4.5cm / 1.6 inches.

A superb and rare snuff box.
