Superb Fitted Sewing Box by Edwards

Description

A wonderful fully-fitted LADY'S SEWING BOX by the famous maker Edwards of London.

The superb rosewood box is profusely inlaid with brass scrollwork, and opens to reveal the stunning contents which include set of 6 MOP cotton reels; matching tape measure; waxer and needle cleaner; silver-topped cut-glass scent bottle; two trays of tools & implements (including a silver pencil by Sampson Mordan); MOP needle case; 2 engraved silver thimbles and other items. Working key and in astonishing original condition. 12 x 9 x 5.5ins.

***This was made by the famous firm of Edwards, of London, who were Boxmakers to King George IV; William IV and Queen Victoria.
