~ French - Circa 1880 ~

~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A lovely antique French clock, boldly modelled in the Rococo style in gilded bronze. Waisted keyhole shape profusely decorated with 'C' scrolls, and acanthus to the shoulders. A large shelf motif is mounted to the front and to the top is an elaborate asymmetric finial.

The large dial is porcelain enamel on copper with separate minute ring. It is complete with it's original finely fretted hands and Rococo bezel with convex glass.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. The movement has the superior pin-pallet escapement. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video availble lf the clock running, please ask.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
