The stallion stands by a wooden fence, apparently calling for its mate. Inscribed signature within the integral base; 10.5ins wide; 7.5ins high; 4ins deep.
He exhibited his first bronze at the Salon in 1838, quickly becoming popular, and winning many awards for his animal sculptures a number of which was cast at his own foundry.
