Antique English Sterling Silver Trinket Box - Victorian - 1897

Description

A most elegant and highly attractive English sterling silver trinket box with all over repousse decoration, quite stunning.

The lid fits perfectly and the long hinge in excellent working order. Once opened the interior reveals a clean gold-washed or gilded interior.

The slightly domed lid has a vacant cartouche to the top, which could be engraved with a monogram if desired.

Both base & lid bear hallmarks, the full one being for Birmingham 1897 together with the makers mark HM.

Excellent condition, measuring 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" tall.
