Antique English Sterling Silver Heart Shaped Trinket Box

Description

A most unusual example of a Victorian sterling silver trinket or pill box, a slightly different shape and an attractive repousse decoration around the central domed top.

The hinges are in perfect working and when opened the box reveals a gilded interior.

There is a hallmark on both top & bottom for Birmingham 1897 together with the makers mark WHW, I think for W H Weston.

Superb condition, measuring 2 5/8" x 2" x 7 /8" tall.
