Description

A rare gilt ormolu Georgian period mantel clock of very small proportions. A silvered engraved dial with blued steel hands. The original gilt finish to the rococo design case. The original velvet base over gilt and the original glass dome. A glass back to the well decorated original verge watch mechanism signed 'James Wightman London'. A 1 day keywind watch mechanism. A very sweet little clock!

James Wightman of London is recorded in Baillies' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1817-1824.
