Curious Antiques has dated this Silver Clad Mantel Clock to the 1900s.
There is a Portuguese silver mark of the Boar and it is marked in several places with the makers name - "Leitao and Irmao Lisboa ; Leitao & IR and Artigos Lheieos Dacaroa, Lisboa" They are probably the finest Goldsmiths/Jewellers/Clock Makers in Portugal and one of the best in the world. They were established in the 18th century and have been Crown/Imperial Jewellers/clockmakers to the Portuguese and Brazilian Crown/Imperial House. .I had it checked out by the person who does clock repairs for me and he had it running without any problems so it appears to be working OK. Overall condition is good .There is very minor surface wear in line with age and use and there is a minor repair to the stand at the rear which appears to have been glued. Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like to view the item.
