Antique Mother of Pearl Opera Glasses with Lorgnette Handle C.1900

Description

A splendid pair of French late Victorian or Edwardian Opera Glasses, made from gilded brass retaining the original finish.

The glasses are in full working order and clad in Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell with it's iridescent qualities. They are an unusual pair with carved mother of pearl around the lenses as well as the eye pieces and even have shell cladding the central screw or fastener across the bridge; a true quality pair.

They come with a modern pouch, not the perfect fit but good for protection. Excellent condition measuring approximately 5" x 2" x 2" while folded up. Paris c.1900.
