Description

Large late 19th.c. English Art Nouveau floor standing dinner gong by the Birmingham makers William Tonks & Sons c.1890. 16" brass gong with a repousse decorated front. Hung on a heavy brass stand with Art Nouveau scrolling decoration and unusual pointed spade shaped feet. With the original clapper. Clear maker’s marks on the underside of the feet, stamped WT&S together with the Tonks & Sons sunburst logo. Excellent condition.
