Pair of 18th C Tole & Enamel Candlesticks

Description

A Pair of Late 18th Century Candlesticks.

The pair of candlesticks in tole,enamel paint and gilt. The scallop edged dished drip pans above ringed vase candle holders, above hexagonal knopped stems, with waisted centres. The sets resting on rounded petal profile bosses, spreading to domed and thence bowed scallop bases, raised up on scrolled leaf feet. The whole with a green ground, decorated with gilt leaves and line edging.

Date c 1790.

Height 8 1/2 inches, 24cm.
