Description

A 19th Century Walnut and Sycamore Tobacco Jar and Cover.

The cover with an ivory vase finial, above an ebony turned and tapered stem, resting on the outward swept and stepped body, decorated with sycamore segmenting. The jar of waisted shape, meeting a rounded sycamore segmented bowl, above the ebony stem, resting on a dished and ringed circular base, with sycamore segmented decoration. The whole raised up on ball feet.

Date circa 1850.
