Description

Fabulous late 19th.c. Italian satin birch and mahogany bed c.1875. Can be used as a large double (to take a super kingsize 66" x 78" mattress) or split apart as two singles. Beautiful satin birch veneers across the head, foot and sides, overlaid with fine mahogany fretwork detail. Tall headboards topped with a carved mahogany floral spray over turned urns. Footboards with unusual carved landscape cameos at the centre. Carved mahogany mouldings with scroll detail at the top of both head and foot boards. Retaining traces of the original paper label for the makers Giacomo Rubino of Genoa. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Sold complete with new bed bases.
