Chippendale George III Pair of Mahogany Tea and Card Tables

18th century
Description

An Excellent pair of Chippendale George III mahogany tea and card tables. The hinged fold over tops with a carved 'rosette-guilloche' moulding, the card table with a baized lined interior; and the tea table with a well figured mahogany interior. The carved frieze with unusual strapwork and foliate decoration. The square champhered legs with Chinese Chippendale blind fretwork and pierced scrolled corner brackets. The card table with a hidden drawer to the underside accessible when the back leg is open.

Dimensions(ins) 34 wide x 29½ high x 17 deep

Notes The tables are in generally very clean condition. The tea table has a very old chip on the right front corner which has good patina; the card table has a very slight warp in one back leg.
