In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The sides are upholstered in a contrasting black fabric with bright matching tassels and braid.
The ottoman is in good condition for its age. We have left the fabric and embroidery on to preserve the history of the piece. It has slightly worn and freyed in places and there is a small hole in the back panel but it still displays beautifully. There are a few marks and stains on the lining but nothing detrimental and the piece is certinaly usable as it is or it could be upholstered to suit your needs.
