Here is an Edwardian wall clock with a 12'' dial showing the Makers name, N . Carter of Rayleigh , Essex .
Local clocks like this do not show up very often and it''s a pleasure to have it in the shop!
The movement is a good ''Fusee'' with heavy ''Bob'' pendulum. The case is made from Mahogany with the outer wooden bezel a little darker than the rear case.
The glass is convex and the bezel is held with a latch. The Carter family were large family of clockmakers in the area with Charles Carter of Rochford most likely being the father of Nathaniel Carter who made this one. The price shown is for collection from our shop. If you wish to have a courier collect, no problem. We don''t like to send these in the post as they have the convex glass. We can also offer to meet on the M25, one of the services for example, if convenient.
Sold with a 24month Guarantee.
