An Elgin Royal Navy Master Watch Chronometer

1920 - 1940
Description

A World War 2 period Elgin Royal Navy chronometer watch. The original case bearing the MOD broad arrow to the back and 'H.S.3'. A mahogany case with leather padding to the top and watch surround. An enamel dial with broad arrow mark and sweep seconds signed 'ELGIN'. The case back has serial number 53388. A high quality 22 jewel mechanism with Breguet over-coil Elinvar type balance which is micro adjustable and a goose neck spring. Signed Elgin and B.W. Raymond. Serial numbers date the watch to 1943.
