Description

A very unusual antique English basket with swing handle and standing on four outstanding and highly decorative feet. What makes this one quite different is the inset blue Wedgwood type plaque in the center, very pretty with a seated lady receiving a kiss from a winged cherub.

The base of the basket is beautifully engraved with a continuous foliate design. The underside bears the makers marks.

Excellent condition dating to around 1870. Measuring 9" in diameter.
