~~ Excellent condition ~~
A stunning gilt brass antique French clock set in excellent condition. Style is French Gothic, clock case has an arched top supported by spiral turned columns.
Beneath the dial there is a goddess mask and to the shoulders of the case are grotesque masks.

Candelabra have conforming bases, above which are ovoid urns on which are the candelabra. Candelabra arms mirror the scrolling sea creature detail of the bases and have very nicely fretted drip pans and sconces. The snuffers sit in the central sconce as finials. Detailing of the set is fine and well finished and the original gilding is in very good, clean and bright condition.

Dial is enamel on copper and is complete with the original fretted blued steel hands.
The French movement is of high quality and has the Japy Freres 'Grande Medaille D'Honneur' mark on the movement backplate. It runs for 8 days and strikes half hourly on a bell. It has been fully overhauled by our clock maker who has replaced the missing pendulum. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with good original gilding which is bright and clean with just some slight wear or tarnish. The candelabra are slightly distorted and one drip pan has a small piece of decoration missing. The dial is also in good condition with no chips or scratches.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
A beautiful clock set to add to your collection!
