Museum Quality Early Water Resistant Omega Automatic Bumper Mens Vintage Watch C1946-47

This is an outstanding example of a rare and very early water resistant Omega automatic made around 1946-47.

Everything about the watch is original and untouched, the only item we have replaced is the mainspring as part of the normal movement service.

The watch is currently running at plus 1 second per day with a very healthy amplitude of 265 degrees, well within the original Omega specification.

The dial is in outstanding original and untouched condition with only the very slightest of patination.

All of the lume to the dial and hands is original and completely intact.

The crown is the early original mushroom shaped design and it still retains its super sharp serrations. Clearly its had very little use

Amazingly the crystal is also original and in near perfect condition with only the slightest hint of the normal yellowing seen on aged early hesalite acrylics.

The case is Omegas early water resistant patented design with the case back held in place by a separate locking ring, the case is untouched and unpolished. The original case graining is almost unmarked or worn.

The case diameter is 35mm without the winding crown.

This is a very rare find and would not be out of place in any world class watch collection.

You are unlikely to ever see a better more original example.

This is the first water resistant automatic and the forerunner to the Seamaster range.

The watch has been fully serviced and is guaranteed to be a genuine Omega in all respects. It has been professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.

It is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers parts. Each part is then thoroughly cleaned in a three stage ultrasonic cleaning process.

The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturers approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and sealed.

Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give you reliable and dependable service and will not require further service for many years.
