Description

Large George III mahogany breakfront wardrobe. The wardrobe has a flared cornice over four doors, opening to reveal ample hanging space on each end, the centre doors open to reveal multiple adjustable/removable trays. This is above drawers in the base, four to the centre, and three on each end. The wardrobe stands on a plinth base and comes apart into 8 sections for ease of transport. It is all in good condition with minor wear commensurate with age and use.

We attribute this piece to Gillows of Lancaster, as a similar piece is illustrated in the book "English Furniture 1760-1900" by Geoffrey Wills.
