As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this charming Meiji period 1868-1912 miniature Iron Shodana cabinet by the Komai company of Kyoto , this super little piece of damascened Ironwork consists of a pair of decorated doors concealing a bank of graduated drawers , the drawers and interior decorated with flying Cranes , landscapes and lilies , the outer doors and cabinet top typically decorated with Shrines and Pavilions amidst a mountainous landscape , the sides and the bracket feet decorated with stylised flora and mon , the doors held close with a gilded floral swag , the underside signed with the Dragonfly seal of the Komai company , the seal used circa 1890-1910 , a fascinating and increasingly scarce miniature cabinet , small is certainly beautiful with this example , an ideal addition to your Japanese metalwork collection .
