A carved oak writing table dating to the Victorian period, circa 1890. This is an excellent quality piece of furniture and the oak is fairly dark. The drawers run smoothly with fine dovetailing and are oak-lined.
The table is on casters and has a raised back-panel at the back so your things won''t fall over the back.
The drawer handles are in brass and very decorative.
Inside the drawer is a makers/retailers label of Foster & Cooper, Nottingham. There is carved detailing also at the back so this can sit freely in the middle of a room and not look out of place or untidy.
It has been given a good wax polish and has a rich and attractive patina and shine. This could also be used as a hall or side table and it is ready for placing into your home.
