In perfect condition, this pair of blue and white bottle vases (with covers) date from around 1870. Painted Qilins, (interestingly with paws instead of the more traditional hooved feet) are painted on alternate panels with various antiques and objets d'art also shown. Qilins, (sometimes confused with dragons) are popular creatures as they are said to provide protection to the pure of heart.
