Georgian Silver 2-Part Wine Funnel Emes & Barnard 1810

18th century
Description

Very nice George III silver wine fine funnel with single piece funnel and pull out strainer bowl. Funnel struts to the sides to allow for aeration during pouring. Plain polished form with reeded detail to both the top of the funnel and the rim of the strainer and the latter with a scallop shell shaped clip. Both pieces hallmarked for London 1810, makers Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard.

It measures 13cm (5 1/8") long and 7.8cm (3") wide and weighs 143g/4.6ozt. Condition is very good with no damage or repairs and just minor and common signs of age and use to the surface, a few pinpricks to the spout and inside the strainer and a few very minor dints to the main body. Light surface wear, a very little rubbing to the edge of the hallmarks but clearly legible. There is a small monogram engraved of R.T

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
