Stunning Regency Boxwood Inlaid Rosewood Jewelry Box C.1820

Description

Take a close look at this box to see the intricate inlay of fine boxwood to the top and front panels, highly decorative and quite exceptional.

The very top incorporates a Mother of Pearl inlaid cartouche, which could be personalized if desired, coordinating with the Nacre escutcheon to the front. A tasseled key is included, the lock is temperamental as many are of this age, and am including as a decorative key.

The interior has been beautifully re-lined in a hand-marbled paper, creating a wonderful clean interior ready for use. It would make a perfect box for either jewellery or perhaps a desk box.

Beautifully French polished to gleam in superb condition. 12" x 8 1/2" x 5" tall.
