John Beazor Antiques has dated this piece to the Before 1700 period.
The stand has five turned baluster legs united by shaped stretchers which are also decorated with marquetry panels. The bun feet have been replaced. In excellent condition.
It has been suggested that the quality of this chest may link it to the work of Thomas Pistor (died circa 1711) of The Cabinet, Ludgate Hill, London and Member of the Joiners' Company. Circa 1690

We are members of the BADA. We do not exhibit at fairs preferring to deal from our Cambridge shop where we hold an Open Weekend every November.
Open 9.00am – 5.00pm, Tuesday to Friday, 10.00am - 4.00pm on Saturday. A prior phone call or email before visiting is always a good idea and we are happy to be contacted outside of business hours.
