A high quality and wonderfully flat chased solid silver French Cup of a decent size.
It is stamped to the Cup and handle with the Minerva head that was used between 1838 and 1973.
Its style and construction suggest it was made in the last quarter of the 19th Century, circa 1880 in Paris.
It is also stamped to the base with what I believe is a makers mark.
It is in a very good condition with no repairs or breaks.
The decoration is still defined and eye catching.
Free from denting.
Vacant cartouche.
Stands steady and true.
It has a heavy and solid feel for its size and is 174 grams in weight.
6.8cm in height.
9.4cm diameter.
12.4cm width including the handle.
A very decorative and interesting piece of French Silverware that deserves to be used.
