The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The exterior has 4 different warships in panels amongst the moulding, and the interior has a detailed river scene with swans, ducks and herons with overhanging trees on the river banks. A sauceboat of same design and pattern formed part of the Zorensky collection, plate 485 in Spero & Sandon.

It measure 18.7cm (7 3/8") long, 16.5cm (6 1/2") wide and 8.5cm (3 3/8") high. Condition is very good. There has been an invisible repair (and associated restoration to the surface) to the lower part of one handle and again to the area of the rim where it joins. This can only be detected with careful viewing under well lit magnification. Very light surface wear throughout.
