Solid Silver Letter Opener with Mother of Pearl Handle 1920

Description

This lovely SILVER LETTER OPENER was made by the well-known silversmiths of James Dixon & Sons in 1920.

The solid silver blade is attached to a plain Mother of Pearl handle has a ringed embossed silver ferrule. Unusually, the handle is capped with a beautiful embossed silver top making this a very unusual and attractive item.

With very little wear despite being 100 years old, this lovely letter opener would look lovely on any desk and would make a lovely gift for someone.(Box included).

Condition:

Used / Excellent

There is no damage and no repairs.

Length – 7.75” / 195mm

Weight – 42gm / 1.36ozt
