Description

Large antique French carved gilt wood mirror in excellent original condition & with some fine features. Please enlarge all the images to see all the fine details. The mirror itself is original & has a little spotting in places, but that’s acceptable for a mirror of this age & only adds to the character. The details around the frame are exquisite, especially on the top with bow & arrows, torches, birds & floral decorations. There’s beadwork all around the inside of the frame & a very detailed inscribed pattern running all over the front of the frame. The back of this mirror is original too & is pine. This very impressive mirror is French & I would date it to around the 1820-60’s period. The gilding is in original condition & we have had it professionally restored, although it wasn’t in bad condition at all.
