Description

Chinese porcelain dish, Swatow, c. 1600. Ming Dynasty. Painted in underglaze blue, with a central panel, of a man rowing a boat on a river before a pavilion and trees, over which an eccentric looking bird flies. The broad border painted with flowering vine.

The reverse of the deep dish, painted with stylised flowering branches, around an unglazed foot rim. Seal mark in underglaze blue.

Diameter - 25 cm, 9 7/8”.

Height - 6 cm, 2 3/8”.

Condition - Excellent. No cracks. No restoration.
