Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The bookcase is made with superbly matched veneers and delicate barley twist columns at either side toped with turned finials, and the knobs are in amber glass

The top is a glazed shelved bookcase, it has one fixed shelf and 2 stationary drawers beneath, below this we have a long drawer which is fitted with a writing slide which conceals a secret storage compartment and pen and ink well holders, and beneath this there is shelved cupboard

This piece is in very good condition, the Mahogany is of the finest quality, the tooled leather on the writing slope has been replaced and the secretaire comes with keys
The Secretaire bookcase is 64” high, 17” deep and 38” wide
