This Antique hardwood Colonial chest would have been made circa 1850 to be used by a wealthy merchant or important family to transport their belongings around the East.

We are pleased to offer you this Antique hardwood trunk.

This large chest was made for a very wealthy owner to store their precious silks and other valuables.

Made in a dense hardwood, applied with superb blacksmith made ironwork straps locks and hasps. The ironwork straps there for protection as it was loaded and unloaded onto the wagons or camels for the long arduous journeys it was to experience.

This antique trunk would make a fantastic coffee table that is sure to spark your friends and family’s imaginations as they wonder of the stories this could tell of its adventures around the East.

The lid opens on iron strap hinges, to reveal a very capacious open storage area with a section to one end that was to store jewellery and other precious items.
